Live Nation Close To Deal To Book Nashville Municipal Auditorium

NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation is reportedly in negotiations with the City of Nashville to take over concerts at Nashville Municipal Auditorium, The Tennessean reports.

According to The Tennessean, the deal is pending as the final steps of the contract negotiations are concluded with the Metro government granting Live Nation an "intent to award" notice.

“It is an iconic building with a long history of hosting legendary performers," Brian Traeger, Live Nation Tennessee division president told The Tennessean. "It is currently the home to the Musicians Hall of Fame and soon to be opened interactive Grammy Gallery. We believe it fits perfectly into our midsize strategy in the marketplace.”

Live Nation, which maintains offices in Nashville's Edgehill Village, also handles booking at other venues in the market, including Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater and Ascend Amphitheater. The company also acquired a controlling interest in the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which takes place in Manchester, TN, approximately 65 miles south of Nashville.

Municipal Auditorium, which opened in 1962, has a capacity of 9,600, and serves as a home to the Musicans Hall of Fame after it relocated from its previous home while Music City Center undergoes construction. – Staff Writers
