Live Nation Cancels New Aussie Movement Festival

SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Festival organizers Live Nation and Niche Productions have announced that they are pulling the plug on the inaugural edition of the Movement Festival, which was scheduled to take place in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth next week.

The promoter cited the withdrawal of headliners Angel Haze, which they attributed to conflicts with recording commitments, as well as 2Chainz, who experienced issues with a visa over a pending court case as factors in the cancelation.

The festival had also in recent days, seen a change in venue in some markets, due in part to the changing lineup, as well as dire long-term weather predictions.

Other artists on the line up for the one-day fest included: Nas, Bliss N Eso, Chiddy Bang, Joey Bada$$, Diafrix, Iggy Azalea, Spit Syndicate, and Thundamentals.

"Live Nation & Niche launched Movement with the intention of providing a well-organized, fully funded multi-artist Hip-hop and urban music festival, to overcome the disappointment that has occurred in the past due to event cancellations and talent withdrawals from similar events in recent years. Despite their best endeavours, the producers have been unable to fulfill their commitment and as such it has been determined that the festival will not go ahead," event promoters wrote in a post on their website regarding the cancelation. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
