(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Lisa Zbitnew has been named President, Sony BMG Music Canada. She will report directly to Tim Bowen, who oversees Sony BMG's operations in the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

"Lisa has done an outstanding job at the helm of BMG Canada, and I am delighted she will be a key part of the Sony BMG team," said Bowen. "I am confident that her leadership skills, marketing talent and strong relationships within the industry will make Sony BMG a market leader in the Canadian market."

Zbitnew most recently served as president, BMG Canada, a position she held since 1998. Under her leadership, BMG Canada enjoyed record growth with the local development and success of Avril Lavigne, Usher, Dido and Rod Stewart, among others, and a roster of local artists including Shawn Desman, Keshia Chante and Andree Watters. Previously, she served as general manager of BMG Canada, to which she was promoted after serving only six months as group vice president, BMG Music Canada.
