Lancaster County Gives Frog Fest The Nod

CRETE, Neb. (CelebrityAccess) — Lancaster County officials have put their stamp of approval on the return of the annual Frog Fest country music festival, despite concern of some local residents.

According to the Lincoln Journal-Star, the Lancaster County Board voted 3-2 to approve an amusement license for organizer NRG Media to host Frog Fest Aug. 20 at the Bluestem Vineyard and Tree Farm at 5895 W. Sprague Road.

County singer Cole Swindell has been named as the headliner for this year's event, with additional artists to be announced.

The festival, which has taken place for the past three years, has not been universally welcomed by local residents. Don Hinds, who lives adjacent to the festival site, told the Journal-Star that the area lacks the required infrastructure for an event like Frog Fest, and that he objects to the crowds and the garbage left behind.

“We’re not against Frog Fest,” he told the paper. “We’re against this occurring in our backyard.” – Staff Writers
