Klaus Named GM At Durham PAC

DURHAM, NC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Industry vet Bob Klaus has been tapped to serve as the General Manager for the Durham Performing Arts Center, which is set to open later this year in downtown Durham, North Carolina.

Klaus brings his experience in the market to his new position. Prior to the Durham, Klaus managed the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre, formerly known as Alltel Pavilion from 1997 to 2006. More recently, Klaus worked on special projects for a variety of venues, including the new 16,800 capacity, $54 million Bethel Woods Center in Bethel, N.Y. He also worked with the 7,000 capacity Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park, in Cary, N.C, and the new Performing Arts Theatre in Holly Springs, N.C.

"Bob Klaus has national expertise in the management of performing arts venues. He also holds keen market awareness, having managed the award-winning Alltel Pavilion for nearly a decade," said Nick Scandalios, executive vice president of Nederlander Producing Company of America. "Under his watch, the amphitheatre received more fan favorite awards than any other entertainment facility in the Carolinas and was perennially ranked among the top 15 venues of its kind in the U.S."

When it opens, the Durham will be a 2,800 seat multi-use theater and will offer a spectrum of Broadway shows, concerts, family shows and other events. The venue will be operated by a partnership between PFM (Professional Facilities Management) and Nederlander. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
