King Louie Shot In South Side Chicago But Raps On

CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) — Louis King Johnson Jr. better known by his stage name King L or King Louie, is a Chicago Rapper and shooting survivor.

The Rapper was shot in the head while home in Chicago for his birthday/Christmas week, which he instead spent in the hospital recuperating. King Louie spoke with CNN's Don Lemon on Monday night December 28th, to discuss the recent shooting and the gun violence plaguing his city.

"They said [the suspect] shot 22 times and I was hit seven times," he said. "Three of the slugs are still with me today — two in my chest, one in my head."

"The devil's working overtime, that's what's going on in Chicago," added Louie, who is actually credited for coining the term "Chi-Raq" the most recent Spike Lee film about the chronic gun violence in Chicago.

"I think there's hope for Chicago," King Louie said, when asked about the city's future. "I don't think I'd be here today if it wasn't for prayer, so I deeply appreciate all the prayers people have made for me and my family 'cause they kept me strong and got me through my situation."

He added, "We gotta be strong, pray for our city and the right people gotta do the right things." – according to CNN
