Kevin Wommack Named President Of The Noise Company

AUSTIN, TX (VIP) — Indie rocker Ben Kweller has joined forces with longtime manager and industry veteran, Kevin Wommack, who will also serve as President of Kweller's record label, the Noise Company.

Wommack has enlisted Mary Juney and Emmy Black, both of whom have worked for New West Records and Bar None Records, respectively, to be a part of The Noise Company staff.

“Ben is an extremely creative artist with great vision and energy. I’m thrilled to be on the team.” Wommack said in a statment.

The record label, which has distribution through Warner’s Alternative Distribution Alliance, recently signed indie darlings, Wild Child, who just won two Austin Music Awards.

Wild Child come bearing a shiny, new album entitled, “The Runaround,” set for release October 8, 2013. The Runaround was produced by Kweller and includes Wild Child’s “big without guitars” signature sound. Beginning Aug. 27, fans will be able to pre-order “The Runaround” on iTunes. All pre-orders include an instant download of the band's first single, "Crazy Bird."

“I’ve never been so excited about the future before,” Kweller commented. “For the past five years, Liz (Kweller) and I have been handling all the business stuff on our own.

I wouldn’t give that time and experience up for anything, but I felt it was time to hand over the keys. Kevin magically appeared at this crazy-perfect time. I’m in a special place right now ‘cause the only thing I have to focus on is making music.” — According to Billboard
