Katherine Jackson Explores Appeal In AEG Case

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson appears to be planning to continue her legal battle with promoter AEG and has filed a notice of intent to request a new trial in the wrongful death of Michael Jackson.

According to the New York Daily News, lawyers for Katherine Jackson cited possible jury misconduct and newly-discovered evidence as the basis for their request in the brief court filing.

"(Asking for a) new trial is the first step before appeal," an attorney for Katherine Jackson told the Daily News.

The move comes after AEG made a filing of its own, seeking more 1.2 million to cover court costs related to the first trial. – Staff Writers
