Judge Dismisses Jury In REM Guitarist Trial

The jury for REM guitarist Peter Buck's air-rage trial in London was dismissed Tuesday, November 13, the second day of the trial.

Judge John Crocker told jurors, "Matters have arisen which necessitate that this trial cannot proceed at the moment. I can tell you no more, I am afraid. It happens sometimes in court. All I can do is thank you for your patience. I am discharging you from bringing in verdicts in this case."

A date for a retrial has not been set.

In April, while flying from Seattle to London aboard British Airways, Buck was charged with assaulting two cabin crew and drunken behavior. He denies the charges.
