Journey Sues Monster Inc. Over Cancelled Show

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Rock band Journey has sued beverage maker Monster Inc. for breach of contract after their booking at the 2016 Consumer Electronics in Las Vegas was cancelled.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Journey had been signed in October to a $500,000 pay-or-play deal with Broken Arrow Music Marketing, on behalf of Monster to perform at the convention on January 7th.

However, a month later, a rep from Monster contacted Journey's rep at Creative Artists Agency, stating that Monster did not have the funds “that they planned on having,” the suit states.

Through the lawsuit, Journey is $500,000 they were guaranteed, plus pre-judgment interest and legal costs. – Staff Writers
