Jewel Becomes Instant Live's First Major Label Client

Instant Live LLC has expanded its 2004 summer season, including the

service's first major-label artist Jewel (Atlantic Records and comprehensive coverage of both the Jewel June/July dates and the KISS Rock the Nation summer tour. Other artists offering Instant Live recordings for select dates are Peter Frampton and the Cowboy Junkies (Rounder Records).

There is also immediate retail availability of select Instant Live CDs, including an already-classic Allman Brothers August 10, 2003 performance in Raleigh, NC as well as plans to offer digital distribution of Instant Live recordings.

Instant Live LLC expects to sign agreements with dozens of acts this season and already offers more than 100 recordings to fans. The Allman Brothers are among the acts for the charter season returning in 2004. A complete schedule of Instant Live(TM) dates is available at http://www.InstantLiveConcerts.com . Artists participating to date include the Allman Brothers Band, moe., Michael Franti and Spearhead, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Buffalo Tom, Kay Hanley, The Samples, The Bomb Squad, Reid Genauer and the Assembly of Dust, and the Smithereens.

Jewel marks the first collaboration between Instant Live LLC, the concert-recording arm of Clear Channel Entertainment, and a major record label. Jewel's performances will be limited editions, only available for purchase at the venue by fans attending the show. Other artists are choosing to also make their Instant Live recordings available at retail after their performance. Instant Live has also expanded its retail strategy.

Working with partner Newbury Comics Inc.'s Toothface Distribution unit, select Instant Live discs are already available at 300 retail outlets, most e-tailers and a growing number of independents. Retail outlets include Virgin and FYE: For Your Entertainment; major e-tailers include NewburyComics.com, Amazon.com and CD Baby; and independents include Waterloo, Amoeba, Twist & Shout and Electric Fetus. In addition, the company is close to announcing an agreement with a leading online music store to distribute Instant Live recordings as MP3 files.
