Jean-Bernard Lévy To Keynote At MIDEM

CANNES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Jean-Bernard Lévy, CEO of France-based media giant Vivendi has been chosen to deliver the keynote address at the 2008 MidemNet Forum, held during the 2008 MIDEM conference.

Lévy will focus on the new trends and possible economic models that will drive the industry into the future. Jean-Bernard Lévy is a key figure at Vivendi, the parent company to major label Universal and the second largest ISP in France.

Vivendi has been forward-looking in its approach to the repositioning itself in the rapidly changing musical landscape, choosing to follow a course of double migration, both from music delivered on a physical medium to "dematerialised" DRM-free digital music and towards the viewpoint of music as a service rather than a product.

"Vivendi is currently testing numerous new economic models with success within its activities linked to music. The group is at the forefront in terms of convergence and utilisation of technologies," notes Dominique Leguern, Director of MIDEM.

MIDEM, the world’s music market, will take place at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, from 27 to 31 January. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
