Janet Jackson Says Tour Postponed While She Plans A Family

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Janet Jackson has revealed the reason for the postponement of the European leg of her inaptly-named 'Unbreakable' world tour, telling her fans that she and her husband are 'planning a family.'

In early March, the 49-year-old Jackson announced that the European leg of the tour was being delayed due to "scheduling conflicts" with Ticketmaster quickly pulling dates and offering refunds to ticketholders. On April 6th, Jackson released a video via her Twitter account, explaining the delay.

"We're in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you be the first to know," Jackson said in the video. "My husband and I are planning our family. I'm gonna have to delay the tour. Please if you can try and understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders."

At the conclusion of the video, Jackson thanked her dancers and the tour's promoter Live Nation, stating, "I can't wait for us to get started again.

Jackson, who avoided stating she was actually pregnant in the video, married her third husband Wissam Al Mana, owner of the Qatar-based conglomerate Al Mana, in 2012.

Jackson previously postponed 29 US dates while she underwent surgery to treat an undisclosed medical condition.

The first leg of Jackson's tour was her most successful in years, with Live Nation telling Billboard last July that, "88 percent of the tickets on the trek’s first leg (Aug. 31 to Nov. 15) were purchased two weeks after going on sale; nearly 80 percent of the tickets for the second leg (Jan. 12 to March 9) were gone in two days." – Staff Writers
