Irish Promoter Sues ATA Over Lady Gaga Dates

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Irish concert promoter Grooveyard has filed a lawsuit against American Talent Agency, Raymond "Twin" Grant, Matthew "Mateo" Rajkumar, claiming that ATA failed to deliver on two promised Lady Gaga dates.

According to court filings obtained by CelebrityAccess, Grooveyard alleges that they shelled out $300,000 as a deposit to Mateo Productions (doing business as American Talent) for two October dates at Dublin's O2 Arena.

Six weeks before the show was scheduled to take place, Grooveyard claims to have received a cease and desist order from AEG, which noted that AEG had exclusive rights to Lady Gaga's tour. Grooveyard claims that they then requested confirmation of ATA's right to rep Lady G, or return the deposit but says that their letters and calls went unreturned.

Grooveyard also claims to have dropped another $20,000 on Mateo Productions (doing business as ATA) to cover expenses while they approached other artists on Grooveyard's behalf.

Grooveyard and their attorneys claim that this all adds up to breach of contract and are seeking $1 million in damages for it.
