Iowa Promoter Files For Bankruptcy

DES MOINES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A Des Moines-based promoter focusing on producing concerts for radio stations, has filed for bankruptcy, leaving numerous unpaid bills to a list of performers that includes Adam Lambert and Joan Jett.

According to the Business Record, promoter Steven Brill launched three promotion companies in 2011 — Concerts for Radio Inc., Concerts for Radio LLC and Concert Tours for Radio Inc. and has since produced events in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. On March 26th, Brill filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, claiming assets of $606,821, including their West Des Moines residence and rental and business properties in Indianapolis, Omaha and St. Louis, and debts of $1.3 million.

Outstanding debts listed in the filing include $45,000 to Lambert’s Glambert Inc. and the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Nashville, Tenn; $87,500 to the rock group Train and its promotions company; $125,000 to Mark Doolittle and his Red Truck Tickets in West Des Moines; as well as more than $100,000 to other musical acts and their representation.

Brill also has unpaid bills with the police departments of Cedar Rapids and Des Moines for providing security and traffic control at concerts.

Brill had been a programming director for radio broadcaster Citadel Broadcasting Corp for several years where he promoted events such as the annual Big Country Bash in Des Moines before striking out on his own. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
