Inspection Leaves Neil Young Fans In The Cold

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Neil Young kicked off the first of his six-night residency in New York on December 12th, but only after a long delay due to a FDNY inspection.

Fans waited in line around the block at the United Palace Theatre as New York’s Fire Department carried out an inspection of fire standards, finally approving the venue after 9pm.

Neil’s wife Pegi’s scheduled opening set was cancelled, forcing the Neil to take to the stage directly.

Opening with a solo acoustic set including the hits ‘From Hank to Hendrix’, ‘Heart Of Gold’, and ‘Harvest’, he was then joined by a band for the show’s second half, during which he dedicated ‘The Believer’ to Rev. Ike (Frederick Eikerenkoetter), as the venue is the home to his ministry.

Throughout the intimate show Young made his way through a set spanning his lengthy career including ‘Winterlong’ and ‘Spirit Road’, returning for a three song encore of ‘Cinnamon Girls’, ‘Don’t Cry No Tears’ and an epic performance of ‘Like A Hurricane’.
