NEW YORK (Hypebot) — Last week landmark Long Island, NY indie retailer Looney Tunes was devastated by fire. The store is pledging to reopen and members of the independent music community lead by The Coalition Of Independent Music Stores is banding together to help.
"They can't dream about doing any other thing but selling music to people. I am sure that some store owners would just fold up and call it a day. Not these guys," says CIMS head Don VanCleave. "They are insured but it did not cover all of the loses. They have 11 employees out on the street. So we want to help. This is not some store that is going out of business due to years of soft business or neglect from its owner. This is a landmark music store that is central to every developing artist on Long Island."
