'Idol' DeGarmo Falls Onstage

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (AP) — Singer Diana DeGarmo took a nasty spill during an "American Idol" concert Tuesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

An RCA Records statement says DeGarmo fell down a long flight of stairs while singing Beyonce Knowles' song "Crazy In Love" during the "American Idols Live" concert.

In spite of the fall, DeGarmo — who was the runner-up in this year's competition — finished the song and left the stage under her own power.

However, she was clearly in pain and was taken to a hospital for X-rays.

Doctors determined she was badly bruised but had not broken anything.

Doctors advised her not to perform at last night's show in Detroit, but DeGarmo made a personal decision to sing one song, "Dreams."
