Three IAAM members have been nominated as directors-at-large: Greg Davis,
director of The Cajun Dome in Lafayette, LA, has been nominated to represent
arenas; Rodney Smith of the Denver Convention Complex, for representation of
performing arts venues; and Kevin Murphy of Basketball Products
International to represent Allied Members. Voting will take place during IAAM's
annual meeting in Atlanta in July.

The following members have been elected vice president for board representation
during the upcoming year: Randy Brown of the Allen County
War Memorial Coliseum (Fort Wayne, IN) will represent District 2; Jyo Singh of
the Key Arena (Seattle) will represent District 4; and Shura Lindgren of the
Midland (Texas) Center was elected from District VI.

IAAM Shows Growth, Membership Retention

IAAM's membership showed a 5.4 percent growth rate at the end of the fiscal year with 3,401 member. This compares with 3,226 member on April 1, 2001. Membership composition for the past 12 months included 2,352 active members; 578 allied members; 51 Associate Members-Faculty; Retired 41; 64 Honorary members; 315 associate members-students.

Membership by district included 592 members in District 1 ( Europe, Africa, Greenland, Northern Atlantic Seaboard in North America); 470 in District 2 (Upper Midwest-US, and Ontario-Canada); 405 in District 3 (US Northern Plains); 249 in District 4 (Northwestern US, Western Canada); 663 in District 5 (Central/South America, Southern Atlantic Seaboard, Deep South-US); 458 in District 6 (Southwest US, Mexico); and 553 in District 7 (Far western US, Asia, Australia); 11 members were not assigned to districts for various statistical reasons. A January-to-January tally showed an 82 percent retention rate.
