IAAM Foundation Honors McGee With First Legacy Award

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) Foundation will present its very first Legacy Award to Mike McGee, CFE, Executive VP of North American Business Operations for Ticketmaster.

The presentation will take place at the IAAM Inaugural Luncheon at the 82nd Annual IAAM Conference and Trade Show in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 23, 2007.

The Legacy Award recognizes significant contributions that benefit the mission and objectives of the IAAM Foundation, leaving a legacy for the advancement of the public assembly industry.

Through the award, the IAAM Foundation celebrates McGee’s leadership as a Foundation Trustee from 2001 to 2004, his commitment, faith, and success as Chairman of the Tickets to the Future Act II major gifts campaign, his personal and corporate generosity, and his service as a role model to the industry.

McGee received numerous nominations, including one from Russ Simons, Principal, HOK Sport, who shared in a statement, “I can tell you from direct experience that Mike’s commitment is personal, as well as, professional. I know first hand his commitment to IAAM, his lifelong commitment to professional development and education and most importantly, his demonstrated actions in putting others before himself. Mike has consistently encouraged his peers to support the IAAM Foundation as a way to give back to the industry. He has lead by example and inspired this commitment in others. The IAAM Foundation could find no more appropriate individual to honor as the inaugural Legacy Award recipient.”

Joan LeMahieu, President, The Parade Company and IAAM Foundation Chair commented, “The IAAM Foundation Trustees are delighted to have the opportunity to acknowledge Mike McGee, a great leader and friend and contributor to our history of service, through this Legacy Award.” LeMahieu will be joined by Mich Sauers, Senior Vice President for Comcast Spectacor, who serves as Chair of the Foundation’s Chairs Advisory Council, to present the award to McGee.

“Many people and companies throughout the years have made important and significant contributions to the growth and achievements of IAAM Foundation,” Sauers said. “The Legacy Award is the most prestigious award that IAAM Foundation can bestow upon an individual or company. It proudly proclaims the appreciation and gratitude that IAAM members and the IAAM Foundation hold for Mike McGee, and those who will follow in the years to come as recipients of this honor.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
