HOB, NIPP Partner In Counterproposal For Red Rocks

House of Blues Concerts (HOB) and Nobody in Particular Presents (NIPP) have become partners in a counterproposal to Clear Channel Entertainment's proposed deal with the city of Denver that would give CCE first booking rights at Red Rocks Amphitheater for the next seven years, guaranteeing the city $640,000 and at least 12 dates at the shed.

Clear Channel's deal is also tied into a separate proposal with Kroenke Sports Enterprises, owner of the Pepsi Center, to build City Lights Pavilion, a 5,500-seat tented venue on the grounds of the arena.

HOB and NIPP are meeting today (Oct. 30) with Fabby Hillyard, director of the city's Theatres and Arenas division. Their proposal, which Fey presented to The Denver Post yesterday (Oct. 29), would guarantee the city an annual revenue of $1 million for 12 events and first rights, reports the paper.
