Hip Hop Fan Gets College Scholarship


ATLANTA, GA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) –Jingle Bash 2009 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta brought Christmas early for one lucky High School senior in the audience that evening.


Algernold Lanier Washington, known to the world as Hip Hop artist Plies, asked a $200,000 question during his performance that evening according to The HipHop Enquirer. “who was a senior in high school?” the rapper asked and panned the audience and found 18 year old Khambrea Johnkins who attends Carver High School in Atlanta. The Urban artist then promised to pay her tuition for college in front of 15,000 fans.


With a 4.0 GPA and dreams of becoming a nurse she will be attending The University of Miami once she is finished with high school. according to the examiner, “I thought I wouldn’t be able to go to the school because the tuition was so expensive but Plies has made my dream come true” states Ms. Johnkins. She also stated that when she spoke with Plies on the phone he just wanted her to promise that she would ‘go hard’ on her studies and that he is a pretty good judge of people and didn’t believe she would let him down. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
