Hiccups For TIDAL's Live Stream Of Kayne's Yeezy 3 Event

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The live stream of Kayne West's Yeezy 3 fashion show combined with the reveal of his new album "The Life of Pablo" could have gone better for music service TIDAL after many users were left with technical issues.

The event, held at Madison Square Garden, was also broadcast live to several hundred movie theaters around the world, and via TIDAL, which made the stream available to both subscribers an non-members, which would seem to be a publicty coup for the service.

However, viewers of the hi-definition stream reported frequent interruptions, very long load times or complete stream failures while trying to tune into the event. Many took to Twitter to express their frustration, leveling snide comments at TIDAL and noting that the stream was available at a much lower quality stream (240p).

"I bought tidal just to watch this spinny buffering icon and clearly a lack of Kanye. This is getting me extra zesty," one frustrated user tweeted.

TIDAL eventually acknowleged the technical issues, but laid the blame for the problems at the door of their service provider AMV, wth service from Akamai.

"With over 20 million people logging in at once to stream the show there were tech issues from AMV, the provider with service from Akamai. Any viewers still having issues can refresh their browsers or set it to a lower streaming level," a rep from TIDAL said in a statement released to Billboard. – Staff Writers
