(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – The popular alternative radio station that promoted the concert has disappeared, but the annual rock festival will go on. Known as the HFStival, the all-day multiple-act alternative rock extravaganza has been a springtime ritual for over 10 years.
In a sudden move by Infinity Broadcasting, WHFS’s alternative-rock format was abandoned in favor of Spanish-language pop music a little over two weeks ago. Before the format change, the station had been giving the concert hours of publicity, almost out of habit, despite not having a date, venue, or bands chosen as of yet.
Infinity has insisted that it plans to continue with the festival. Several problems do stand in the way, including finding a way to promote the event without the moniker of the former radio station.
