Gregg Allman's Laid Back Festival Set To Take Place In 5 Cities In 2016

NEW YORK, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Gregg Allman announces the return of the Laid Back Festival, a one-day event that was successful in its first year. This year it is set to take place in five American cities throughout the summer of 2016. The events will be headlined and curated by Allman, alongside an all-star line-up soon to be announced. Much more than just a concert, the Laid Back Festival will also celebrate America's diverse and delicious food and drink, with more than 20 regional restaurants, food trucks, breweries, wineries, and other artisans represented at each festival stop.

Named after Allman's 1973 solo debut, the inaugural Laid Back Festival was held last summer at Wantagh, NY's Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, presented in partnership by Allman, longtime manager Michael Lehman, and Live Nation. Now with an expanded itinerary, the 2016 Laid Back Festival will once again feature an eclectic range of artists performing on two distinctive stages, the main "Laid Back" stage and more intimate "Low Country" stage. The latter – which takes its name from Allman's 2011 solo “Low Country Blues”, will serve as a special showcase for rising local artists and musicians from every region on the festival tour's itinerary.

"We had so much fun last year, that it seemed like we should try this in other towns," said Allman. "The idea was to put the Laid Back vibe on more than just the music. It had to be about food and drink too, and the people just loved it. So we're coming back and taking it on the road!"

"Laid Back Festival was one of the highlights of the 2015 Jones Beach season." Said Steve Gaber, VP Booking at Live Nation in New York. "It's a great day of music, food and friends and we couldn't be happier to bring the experience into new markets."

The Laid Back Festival's 2016 season will begin Saturday, May 7th, at Atlanta, GA's Lakewood Amphitheatre and then make stops at Nashville, TN's Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater at Fontanel (Saturday, June 25th), Chicago. IL's FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island (Saturday, July 16th), Wantagh, NY's Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (Saturday, July 23rd), and Morrison, CO's world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Sunday, September 25th).
