Glastonbury SRO In 24 Hours

GLASTONBURY, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) The Glastonbury Festival 2004 to be held June 25-27 sold out in just 24 hours on April 1 after "unprecedented" demand for tickets, according to organizer Michael Eavis, who apologized to fans who were shut out. "I have to say I'm very
sorry that so much trouble has been caused by the serious delays within the
phone lines and the website," Eavis posted on the festival's website.

"Clearly the engineering specification was well short of what was needed – particularly the BT exchange in Nottingham which was cutting back our calls to the call centre by as much as 60% some of the time. We will make sure that this doesn't happen again at all cost. Sincere apologies that this event, which has so much to offer, has – on this occasion – caused many of you such frustration and disappointment," continued
Eavis.

Fans claimed that buying tickets online was quite frustrating due to the large demand and that the telephone number that was also utilized was constantly busy. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
