MONTREAL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Quebecor, one of Canada's largest media conglomerates, has named Aldo Giampaolo to the position of President and CEO of Quebecor Media Entertainment & Sports Group.
Mr. Giampaolo is an industry veteran with than 25 years experience in managing, promoting and producing major local, national and international events, including the management of arenas and major venues.
Mr. Giampaolo's previous experience includes a stint as Vice President Operations of the Montréal Forum from 1986 to 1996, during which period he also served as Executive Project Director of the new Bell Centre for two years. He went on to serve as Executive Vice President and General Manager, occupying that position from 1995 to 2001. He then founded Gillett Entertainment Group (which became EVENKO in 2010) and was its President from 2001 to 2004.
In 2006, Mr. Giampaolo made the move to the Cirque du Soleil organization, where he served in a number of senior positions, related to international touring, including Executive Producer, Arena Tours Division, and Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Touring Shows.
