George Michael Attempts To Smoke Less Pot & Defends Winehouse

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — George Michael has admitted that he would like to cut down on his pot-smoking.

Michael says that he wants to stop using marijuana as much as he is doing, but denies that it’s affecting his life in any way.

In the interview on BBC Radio 2’s Desert Island Discs, Michael said: "I'm a happy man and I can afford my marijuana so that's not a problem.”

“I’d like to take less and to a degree it’s a problem. But I’m happy and I can afford it,” the Sun quoted Michael, as saying. Michael has also expressed contentment over the completion of half of his 100 hours’ community service, which started after he admitted to driving under the influence of drugs.

“I scrubbed rooms and made fajitas for homeless people. I was quite good,” he told Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

Defending the drug, Michael also said that he feels the world would be a much better place if the drug was legalized.

Elsewhere in the interview, he called Amy Winehouse one of the best writers around and said he believes she has the strength to get through her troubles.

He said: "I wish her every success in the future. I know she can get past the media. I don't know if she can get past other things, but she's a fantastic talent and we should support her."
