Galbraith Launches New Firm In Partnership With AEG

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Who said you can't believe rumors? Stuart Galbraith, formerly Live Nation UK's managing director has reappeared, this time at the helm of a new promotion company Kilimanjaro Live Ltd.

According to Billboard, the company will work on promoting both concerts and festivals and confirming many previous rumors, will be closely partnered with Live Nation's competitor AEG.

"It's a partnership that will enable us to be small, nimble, and move as an independent promoter, but also draw upon capital resource and the network infrastructure that AEG has on a global basis," says Galbraith.

Galbraith had until September been the head of Live Nation's UK operations until he was quickly ushered out with LN citing Breach of Contract as the reason for his sacking. Galbraith had been instrumental in a number of high profile events such as the Download and O2 Wireless Festivals and overseeing production for the London installment of Live 8.

Galbraith new firm will focus on the indie and rock festival market as well as live touring in close association with AEG's portfolio of UK venues. Kilimanjaro already has an impressive list of artists its booking UK tours for, including the Eagles, kd lang and Simply Red.

They've already got a festival in the offing, partnering in the three-day sports and music festival Wakestock 2008.

Billboard also reported that Galbraith is working with Goldenvoice's Paul Tollett on a number of projects.

"Hopefully, this will give AEG an involvement in the creation and promotion of international festivals, which is something they haven't had. They've certainly got a good footprint in the U.S., with Coachella, Stagecoach and New Orleans Jazz. Outside the U.S. they haven't got any involvement in festivals. And that is one of the primary functions of Kilimanjaro." said Galbraith. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
