LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — As reported last month by CelebrityAccess, Simon Fuller is trying to get back into the 19 Entertainment game.
In a “Tea with the FT” article with the Financial Times, for business partner Simon Cowell may have given more hints at the upcoming business deals of Fuller.
Cowell described their on-again, off-again relationship as being like “brothers, and brothers squabble…We’ve had our squabbles and our fall-outs but I think we genuinely enjoy one another’s company. We’re incredibly competitive and always have been, so it was probably inevitable that at some point during Idol that we would split up because we’re too similar.”
Cowell and Fuller sold their interests in their respective companies – Cowell’s Syco production company was acquired by Sony BMG, while Fuller’s 19 Entertainment was bought by CKX. The Times mentions that Fuller has recently moved to buy it back, however.
Cowell explains his possible motivation: “We’re both in a similar position now where neither of us owns anything.”
When asked if he wants to be the owner of a company again, Cowell responds, “Oh God yes…Idol was always our baby. There’s something special about owning your own property. Most importantly, the fun is not being there, the fun is getting there. When you have that germ of an idea and you see it through to fruition…it’s the most exciting time.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
