Frank Sinatra Jr. Dies While On Tour

DAYTONA BEACH (CelebrityAccess) — Frank Sinatra Jr., the son of the legendary crooner Frank Sinatra, has died while on tour in Florida, according to his manager manager Andrea Kauffman. Sinatra was 72 at the time of his death.

Singer Nancy Sinatra posted on her Facebook page that Frank Sinatra Jr. died of a cardiac arrest. "The Sinatra family mourn the untimely passing of their son, brother, father, uncle, Frank Sinatra, Jr. of cardiac arrest while on tour in Daytona, Florida… Sleep warm, Frankie…" she wrote in tribute to her brother.

Sinatra was on his "Sinatra Sings Sinatra" tour and scheduled to perform at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach on Wednesday, however, a statement posted to the venue's website announced the show had been cancelled, stating that Sinatra had fallen ill.

The scion of the legendary Sinatra family, Frank Jr. told the Guardian in a 2012 interview that when he was young, he saw his father more on the screen than in person, however in later years, the two developed a closer relationship, with Frank Jr. serving as his father's bandleader during the final touring years of Frank Sr.'s life.

Sinatra, who looked and sounded quite similar to his father, carried on the Sinatra legacy, releasing six albums of his own over the course of his career.

Sinatra also acted, appearing in a fistful of shows, including potraying himself in an episode of the HBO mob drama "The Sopranos."
