Female Artists Rule The Roost In Brit Award Noms

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Florence & the Machine and Pixie Lott all picked up three nominations each for this year's Brit Awards.

Lady Gaga, who seems to be everywhere these days (except for Purdue) picked up noms for best international female artist, breakthrough artist and album for "The Fame."

Allen picked up a nod for British single, British female solo artist and British Album while Florence was nominated for British breakthrough, female artist and album. Pixie Lott is in the running for best female, breakthrough artist and best British single.

Other nominees include JLS who will duke it out for best British group with Friendly Fire, Muse and Kasabian. Jay Z and the Black Eyed Peas are all in contention for best international album against Lady G, Animal Collective and Empire of the Sun.

Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen made the lst too, picking up a nom for international male artist along with Jay-Z, Michael Buble and Eminem and Robbie Williams has been tapped to receive an award to recognize his outstanding contribution to music.

This year's award ceremony will be hosted Peter Kay and is set to take place place on 16 February at London’s Earls Court Arena. If you can't make it to the show, it will be televised live on ITV1.
