Fan Hospitalized After Van Halen Show

RAPID CITY, SD (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A man attending the November 13 Van Halen concert fell 15 feet from a balcony at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

Rapid City Fire Chief Gary Shepherd told the Rapid City Journal, “He leaned over the rail, and in his enthusiasm during the song, threw his fist in the air and overbalanced. He took a 15-foot fall to the concrete below. He suffered head injuries, shoulder injuries and lacerations. He was transported to the hospital.”

Shepherd also noted that the man had been drinking and although he initially lost consciousness he regained it during the ride to the hospital. According to the hospital the man is in “relatively stable” condition. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
