LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Sir Elton John’s car was reportedly stopped by police when he attempted to re-enter Wembley Stadium after his performance at the Princess Diana concert organized by Princes William and Harry last weekend.
The singer was asked to walk 50 yards to the VIP backstage area, as vehicles weren’t allowed any closer to the venue – measures that were put in place following the attempted terrorist attacks in London one week ago.
Elton reportedly got extremely aggravated when police threatened to arrest his driver, yelling, “Get out of my [expletive] way! Don’t you know who I am? I’ve been working all [expletive] day, and I need to get to my [expletive] dressing room,” according to E!Online.
A spokesman for John told reporters that, “He had been there for 10 hours and performed a brilliant set. It’s a shame that people are concentrating on one petty moment. You can’t expect Elton to start walking towards Wembley as 60,000 people are leaving. That’s a security risk in itself.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
