Dave Matthews Joins Farm Aid 2001 Line-up

In a special solo performance, Dave Matthews will join Farm Aid co-founders John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson and Neil Young at Verizon Wireless Music Center for the 14th installment of Farm Aid. The benefit concert returns to Indianapolis Sept. 29 for the first time in 11 years. Farm Aid was first staged in Indiana for Farm Aid IV in 1990.

Tickets for Farm Aid 2001, including parking, will be $68 for "Corn Belt" seats, $53 for upper pavilion and $33 for the lawn.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring durable food goods to the concert to help feed the hungry in the Indianapolis area. For the seventh consecutive year, Farm Aid and USA Harvest are joining forces to collect and distribute donated food to local food pantries and shelters.

CMT: Country Music Television will telecast Farm Aid live for the fourth consecutive year.

In addition, Nelson's second annual 10K for Farm Aid, "This Ain't No Picnic," is set for Oct. 21 in Austin, Texas. Nelson will appear Aug. 9 at RunTex Riverside for a kick off of the Time to Train for the Willie Nelson 10K for Farm Aid.

Farm Aid was founded in 1985 by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young to raise public awareness about the plight of the American family farmer and to provide assistance to those families whose livelihood depends on agriculture. In the past 16 years, Farm Aid has granted nearly $16 million to more than 100 farm organizations, churches and service agencies in 44 states.
