LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former AC/DC frontman Dave Evans has been nominated in the rock category for session II of the Los Angeles Music Awards. Evans was nominated for the single 'Sold My Soul To Rock N Roll' off of his new CD entitled Sinner.
The awards will take place on November 19th in Los Angeles. Evans has also been invited back to Australia to perform at the opening of the Bon Scott statue.
It is perhaps a surprising choice to invite Evans to perform at the event as he was only with AC/DC for a brief span early in the band's career, long enough to record just one single "Can I Sit Next To You Girl" / "Rocking In The Parlour" before being replaced with the band's manager Dennis Laughlin, and then eventually by Bon Scott. The split was not entirely amicable according to some versions of the story.
Evans has performed with the AC/DC tribute band Thunderstruck as well as hard rock band Rabbit, which lasted for 3 years in the 1970s. He has also released a pair of solo efforts, Hell of a Night in 2000 and Sinner in 2006.
Recently however, Evans has formed a new band, Dave Evans and the Badasses and is currently touring. For more information, check here. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
