Court Rejects Jack Utsicks' Appeal

MIAMI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The 11th Circuit Court has rejected the latest appeal by former concert promoter Jack Utsick over the SEC-ordered disgorgement of more than $5 million in the wake of the failure of Utsick's Worldwide Entertainment.

In 2006, the SEC brought suit against Utsick, alleging that he had defrauded more than 3,000 investors of more than $300 million and his company, WorldWide Entertainment was placed in receivership.

Since then, Utsick has retreated to Brazil, a nation that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. and has refused to appear for depositions related to his legal proceedings.

Utsick's appeal did not challenge his liability, but took exception to several points including a court-imposed prohibition on WorldWide paying Utsick's legal fees and court-imposed sanctions on Utsick for his failure to appear at depositions.

The 11th circuit did not agree with any of Mr. Utsicks' objections. It is unknown if he intends further appeal. His attorney did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
