Court Gives MCD The Nod To Pursue Prince Across Europe

DUBLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — MCD has been given a court order that gives them a little bite in their pursuit of €2.2 million judgment against Prince over a cancelled concert in Dublin in 2008.

According to the Irish Times, Justice Peter Kelly granted MCD a European Enforcement Order that will allow them to make a claim on any income that Prince earns from concerts or other sources in European nations in order to satisfy the outstanding judgement against him.

A European Enforcement Order allows a party to enforce foreign judgements within the European Union without the need of an intermediate proceeding, allowing the ruling of the Irish court to be applicable in any member-nation of the European Union.

The suit was brought against Prince in the wake of a failed 2008 concert in Ireland, promoted by MCD, which the singer backed out of at the last minute. Prince maintained, through a written statement provided to the court, that he had not confirmed the date with MCD and that he considered it still in the 'negotiation' phase.
