NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Bluegrass artist Chris Stapleton won big at the 2015 Country Music Association awards, taking home three prizes, including awards for Best Album, Male Vocalist and New Artist of the Year.
Stapleton, who already has a solid reputation as a Nashville songwriter, penning hits for artists such as George Strait, Adele and Luke Bryan, seemed to fly below the radar of a lot of country fans before the awards show, but by midnight, his debut album "Traveller" was #1 on the US iTunes store.
Other winners on the night included Little Big Town who took home prizes for best single and best song, and Vocal Group of the Year and Miranda Lambert, who won for Female Vocalist of the Year.
The awards show was held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood returning as hosts for the event for the 8th consecutive year. – Staff Writers
