Comedian Katt Williams Charged In Fight With Teenager

GAINESVILLE, GA (CelebrityAccess) — Comedian and perennial defendant Katt Williams has been charged with disorderly conduct following a brawl with a teenager at an apartment complex in Georgia, police in metro Atlanta said Monday.

Williams, 44, and Luke Wash, 17, were both charged in connection with the fight last week, according to NBC News, with Wash being charged as an adult in the incident.

"It's my understanding that Wash is in custody at the jail and we have made contact with Williams' attorney and it is our hopes and our understanding that he will be turning himself in," Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said on Monday.

A video of the fight appears to show Williams being followed by Wash and later confronted as he stood with his back against the brick wall. The two exchanged inaudible words and Williams takes a swing at the youth before being wrestled to the ground. A crowd of onlookers eventually broke up the scuffle.

One video of the events seems to show Williams as the aggressor, but it was unclear what sparked the incident.

Attorney Drew Findling told NBC that Williams had been doing community service and playing soccer with children at a subsidized housing complex in Gainesville, northeast of Atlanta, when the fight happened.

Williams has had numerous previous run-ins with the law, and was charged most recently charged in early March with making terroristic threats, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and possession of marijuana after he threatened a bodyguard's life. He was also charged with battery in February in connection with a fight at a pool supply store. – Staff Writers
