Set to launch on June 30, CoconutRoad-dot-com Unsigned & Independent Artists Web site will effectively rewrite the rules of promotion and distribution of MP3s from independent artists. It will offer a unique approach to discovering new artists. Instead of promoting a Web site name to attract millions of buyers, CoconutRoad.com will promote the music of thousands of its bands. It will individually invite millions of potential buyers to hear and buy music from one artist at a time by matching up music genres with individual customers who have expressed an interest in that type of music.
"It's one-to-one promotion on a massive scale that will exponentially improve the chances of indie musicians around the world earning a living selling their music," said Paul Mason, president and founder of CoconutRoad.com
Mason plans to champion the rights of independent musicians by speaking directly to college forums, radio stations and other media using a "common sense" ethics strategy in the upcoming weeks.
"The digital music debate will be resolved when consumers realize that the future of the music business is in their hands and that stealing music is wrong," Mason said.
