Clear Channel Entertainment Takes On Music DVDs

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Clear Channel Entertainment Television, a division of CCE, will be moving into the music DVD market this spring. The company has signed a multi-year deal with Ventura Distribution, who handles more than 60 home video products and has special content units that focus on urban, family/pop and Latino DVDs.

Ventura will be releasing the music DVDs of CCE concerts. At least 12 concerts will be released over the next two years in high-definition video and include special features.

The first confirmed title will be “Produced by Trevor Horn: The Best of the ‘80s.” The DVD will feature Yes, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Pet Shop Boys. The deal with Ventura calls for 11 more DVDs following this release.

Both companies are optimistic about the deal, and plan to explore more offerings and possibly extend their distribution relationship. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
