Cincinnati To Get New Concert Space

CINCINNATI (CelebrityAccess) – A Cincinnati promoter is expanding his portfolio of venues in the market with the opening a new music venue on the city's Over The Rhine neighborhood aimed at bringing national touring acts to the city.

According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, Julian Rodgers, the entrepreneur behind established Cincinnati venues such as Mixx Ultra Lounge and Joe's Diner is opening a 15,000 square foot space to be named OTR Live in the building that formerly house the Red Cheetah an Club Glitter and at 1133 Sycamore St.

The Business Courier said Rodgers plans to completely refurbish the space, with new sound and lighting and hopes to host all kinds of musical acts, from R&B and reggae to pop, indie and hip hop. The space will also be available for private rentals.

Rodgers said that he approached the House of Blues about the venue as well.

" When I got the space, I originally reached out to the House of Blues to see if I could get a franchise. They told me Bogart's was essentially their House of Blues in Cincinnati," Rodgers told the Business Courier. "I wanted a similar premise, a live music concept with national artists."

"I feel like that space was the ideal live music space. You'll be able to see local bands, national, international, it's going to be a space you can go see anyone from Blessid Union of Souls to Nas," Rodgers added. – Staff Writers
