Chugg Entertainment CEO Matthew Lazarus-Hall To Step Down

SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess) — Matthew Lazarus-Hall will step down from his post as CEO and co-director of one of Australia's top concert promoters, Chugg Entertainment at the end of March, 2016.

According to Billboard, Lazarus-Hall first joined Chugg in 2004 and since has collaborated on a variety of tours, festivals and other projects for the company, including tours by Coldplay, Elton John, Radiohead and Robbie Williams, as well as charity events such as Live Earth and Sound Relief.

Lazarus-Hall said he is stepping down to spend more time with his family, and to develop a consultancy business. He will continue in leadership and operational roles at the CMC Rocks QLD festival and the Laneway Festival, as well as other special projects for Chugg, Billboard said.

“Matthew has been an incredible business partner for the last decade, his vision for what Chugg Entertainment could become has seen the business grow significantly since he joined me in 2004,” notes Chugg. “Many of the great things we’ve achieved would not have been possible without him. While Matthew is stepping back, we have an incredible team at Chugg Entertainment and Chugg Music and an outstanding group of business partners that will continue to see the business go from strength to strength. I look forward to continuing to work alongside Matthew as he consults back to the business in the future.”

Lazarus-Hall got his start in the industry working as a stage manager for events and theatrical shows before seguing into festival productions such as the Brisbane Festival in 1996.

Following a short stint in television, Lazarus-Hall signed on as an operations director at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, before joining Australian ticketing company TicketTek, overseeing events such as the Olympic Games, Goodwill Games as well as tours by artists such as Kyle Minogue.

“It’s been a big 11 years at Chugg Entertainment and it’s never been dull,” added Lazarus-Hall. “Together, we have come leaps and bounds from where we began.”

“When I started with the business, I had a clear vision of what it could become and what I hoped to achieve in my time with the company and that has been accomplished.” – Staff Writers
