Chuck Morris Eyes Denver For Big Festival

DENVER (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Chuck Morris and AEG Live are looking into bringing another music fest to life for the summer festival circuit, this one in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado.

Dubbed The Mile High Music and Arts Festival, the event is currently under consideration by the Denver City Council and neighborhood business and community organizations. If approved, the event will occupy the city park for two days on July 19 & 20, bringing 60 bands to six stages in front of 50,000 people a day, the Denver Post reported.

"I'm confident that we'll put together a plan that everybody from the City Council to the neighborhood groups to the Zoo will sign off on," concert promoter Chuck Morris told the Post "Without their support, we cannot do this."

Leaving the nearby Monolith Festival at Red Rocks to plumb the depths of the indie scene, the new event will focus on acts with a broader appeal. Likened to Austin City Limits, the festival will feature artists like Dave Matthews Band, Wilco, John Mayer and Bob Dylan. In addition to the festival Morris has indicated that many of the participating acts would likely play late night gigs at nearby venues as well.

"It's going to be very similar to ACL," Morris told the Post "I went to ACL this year, and it was unbelievable. There are no cars around the park. The bike racks are 100 yards long, and they're all full."

Morris has already reportedly already held about 70 meetings with various civic groups regarding the festival, and plans are in the works to address concerns like traffic congestion and other concerns. He plans to go before the City Council with his finalized proposal in November or December so stay tuned for further developments. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
