Chinese Musician Cancels Six U. S. Concerts Due To Visa Problems


(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Chinese musician Cui Jian who was to launch his first North American tour in Schenectady, NY on April 9 canceled the first six tour dates due to a problem with obtaining visas for his entourage, it was announced today in Beijing by his manager, Paul Fry. "We are extremely unhappy that we could not get the proper documents from the government," said his manager Paul Fry, "but we are living in difficult times. The dates will hopefully be rescheduled at the earliest possible opportunity."

Cui Jian, also known in Asia as Lao Cui, is recognized by western media as the father of rock and roll in China and compared as the Chinese Elvis, Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

The tour is now scheduled to begin on April 17 in Chicago, IL. The remaining shows of the tour will continue as planned.
