Chili Peppers Line Up For Sanders Fundraiser


LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as the headliner for a fundraising concert in Los Angeles for Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Bernie Sanders.

The Peppers will perform at the Ace Hotel on on February 5th, continuing their vocal support for the senator. Last September, the band signed a letter of endorsement that was posted on Sanders website. Bandmember Flea also took to Twitter to share his view that Sanders was the only feasible presidential candidate.

The Chili Peppers are just one of a number of musical artists who have hopped on the Sanders train. Killer Mike, one half of Run the Jewels, helped the senator to campaign in Georgia and will perform at a January 30th free concert at the at University of Iowa Field House on Jan 30th. Joining Mike a the event are Foster the People, Josh Hutcherson and two members of Vampire Weekend – Ezra Koenig and Chris Tomson.

Other artists who have endorsed Sanders include David Crosby, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Graham Nash, Loudon Wainwright III, Zoë Kravitz, Doors drummer John Densmore and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore.

Sanders, who describes himself as a democractic socialist, has eschewed donations from corporate partners and superpacs, instead, funding his campaign with grassroots donations. – Staff Writers
