Charles River Associates Helps With Live Nation And Ticketmaster Merger

BOSTON, MA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Charles River Associates, a provider of management, economic, and financial consulting services, announced that the company assisted Live Nation with securing antitrust clearance from the US Department of Justice (DOJ) for its merger with Ticketmaster Entertainment.

In a release, the company said Vice President Andrew Dick led a team of CRA economists who helped Live Nation achieve DOJ clearance subject to consent provisions that still allow the merged firm to focus on its goal of enhancing the live entertainment experience for consumers and artists. CRA economists combined rigorous theoretical analysis with empirical studies to analyze competition in concert promotions, artist tour routing, venue selection, and other competitive issues in the live entertainment industry. The Washington, DC-based CRA economics team also included Vice Presidents John Woodbury and Serge Moresi and Principal Jeff Prisbrey.

Partner Karen Silverman of Latham & Watkins, which served as counsel for Live Nation, said, "Andrew Dick and CRA provided invaluable support and assistance as we worked through a rigorous DOJ review process."

Paul Maleh, CRA's President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Charles River Associates is pleased to have assisted Live Nation in securing antitrust clearance for its merger with Ticketmaster. Our consultants regularly advise on precedent-setting and industry-changing transactions, and our economic and antitrust expertise provided in this matter is another example of our work in this area." –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
