Carl Cox And Christopher Coe Team Up For Awesome Soundwaves, A Brand New EDM Label

LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Veteran DJ and producer Carl Cox announced that he’s teaming up with fellow techno DJ/producer Digital Primate (aka Chris Coe) to launch a new record label.

Awesome Soundwave (ASW) will focus on electronic music artists who perform live and provide a platform for developing acts to experiment with the form.

“The idea is to bring together a whole plethora of amazing producers and would-be live acts in the realms of electronic music and bring them to the forefront of where we are to take the music into the future,” Cox told Mixmag.

“My idea was to create a label where artists who actually can make their music live, and perform their music live, have a stable where they can be themselves, be able to create the music without any boundaries and to feel free in the sense of releasing music without prejudice in any way, shape or form,” he added.

The label is already preparing for the May debut its first release, “Headland” by Chris Coe. The 8-track album presents a spare and moody tech sound that Coe says was inspired by his homeland in County Mayo, Ireland.

ASW won’t be Cox’s first foray into the world of running a record label. He runs the record label, Intec Digital, which was founded in 1999 as Intec Records.
