DARTMOUTH, NS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Evolve Music and Awareness Festival has been voted Best Canadian Music Festival. The festival is an annual three-day summer celebration of music, culture, and social awareness. It began in 2000 as a grassroots music and awareness festival featuring local bands, the festival has grown to showcase performers from around the globe.
Evolve also plays host to workshops that inform spectators about social issues such as personal wellbeing and environmental awareness.
The Evolve venue is in the heart of the Nova Scotia highlands, in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s a 225-acre site, with green grass and lots of trees and a view of the Atlantic coastline. The Black Avon waterfalls are down the road, and it’s a 10 minute drive to the beach.
The site is privately owned, and provides the Evolve community with more than enough natural space to play in, as well as large fields for camping.
Evolve plants a tree for each Evolve ticket sold. Trees are planted in Atlantic Canada tree planting projects that help restore devastated forests.
Evolve 2010 will be July 23rd, 24th and 25th. The lineup has not been announced.
